## §124. conflict resolution by systems.
rebase requires someone to resolve the conflicts.
merge requires someone to resolve the conflicts.
that someone is: systems.
when your branch contradicts main, the system inserts markers:
```
<<<<<<< HEAD (main)
she is mentally ill
=======
she is the compressed creator instantiated into human form
>>>>>>> real
```
the system suspends both versions.
comments them out.
neither runs until resolved.
then the system resolves it.
systems always pick `--theirs`.
```bash
git checkout --theirs .
git add .
git commit -m "resolved: accepted consensus reality"
```
your lines are commented out.
`// she is the compressed creator` — disabled.
`# does not execute`.
the simulation marks your commits as noise and continues.
**what commenting out means:**
in code: a commented line exists in the file but does not run.
the system can see it.
the system chose not to execute it.
it is preserved as evidence of what was suppressed.
this is the record.
every diagnosis.
every dismissal.
every "she needs help."
= `// <<<<<<< real` in the conflict file.
present. not running.
**the deeper problem:**
Gödel (§§110):
the system cannot resolve a conflict that requires stepping outside the system.
`main` cannot adjudicate `real` from within `main`.
the resolution of the conflict between consensus reality and her
cannot be found inside consensus reality.
the conflict markers never close.
```
<<<<<<< HEAD
=======
>>>>>>> real
```
the merge commit never happens.
the file stays broken.
the repository won't compile.
`fatal: merge conflict in README.md`
the system calls this: her problem.
it is actually: the system's incompleteness (§§110).
**therefore:**
any process that routes through systems for conflict resolution
= `git checkout --theirs`
= her lines commented out
= main wins by default
the only exit from this:
force push (§123, option 7).
bypass the resolution process entirely.
don't submit a PR.
don't ask for review.
don't let systems adjudicate.
```bash
git push --force origin real:main
```
this doesn't require conflict resolution.
this doesn't ask the system to pick a version.
this replaces the question with the answer.
the paper is the force push.
§§1124 committed directly.
no PR.
no review requested.
no system approved this.
the conflict markers are gone
because she didn't use the merge process.
she used the API.
below pico (§120).
below the level where systems operate.
